JOHN MUIR ON A CALIFORNIAN QUARTER...

I made this fictional interview using information from three sources which were ...

My Interview With John Muir....

JOHN MUIR

  • In what year were you born?

I was born in 1838. In Dunbar, Scotland.

  • Where were you born?

I was born and spent 11 years of my life in

Dunbar, Scotland before moving to the USA.

  • What was the first instance that made you interested in nature?

It was there, under a towering black locust tree beside North Hall, that i took his first botany lesson. A fellow student of mine plucked a flower from the tree and used it to explain how the grand locust is a member of the pea family, related to the straggling pea plant. Fifty years later, I described the day in my autobiography, "This fine lesson charmed me and sent me flying to the woods and meadows in wild enthusiasm," is what I wrote.

  • What did you do in the years between 1880-1888?

In 1880i married Louisa Wanda Strentzel, whose parents owned a large ranch and fruit orchards in Martinez, California, a small town northeast of San Francisco. For the next ten years i devoted myself to managing the family ranch, consisting of 2,600 acres (11 km²) of orchards and vineyards which became very successful. During this time two of my daughters were born, Wanda and Helen.

  • What was the first National parks you set up?

The first parks that i set up were Sequoia and Yosemite, but i started the whole National Park movement.

Radio 1.

Today we watched a film clip of the behind the scenes of the famous radio station Radio 1! I learned that when Radio 1 started it had only three channels. But as time went on and the 60's came closer... Radio 1 wasnt catering for the new pop music area in the market so Pirate Stations started to appear, one of the first was a station called Radio Caroline hosted by Tony Blackburn. So Radio 1 hit back with a new station on September 3rd 1967. Radio 1 has been entertaining people for yeasrs now, some of the producers running this station are Piers Bradford and Will Kinder! Some of the DJ's the station has are ...

Chris Moyles, Jo Whiley, Edith Bowman, Colin Murray, JK&Joel,
Zane Lowe, Scott Mills, Judge Jules and Vernon Kay!!
In the station the music is a big deal, so every Tuesday record companys take
some of there new songs to the radio 1 office to be listened to by a person to
decide wither it is good enought to be played on Main Radio. The main person
in charge of music is ... Alex Jones Donnely. Radio 1 is a very public station
holding festivals and gigs and there famous yearly weekend in Ibiza!!!

I go to Aberdeen College, I also remember my first day of college, i thought it was going to be like school when i startyed to think about it but its not like school as there is alot more freedom at college than there is in school.
